New Hurling Clubs

In new club news, Vancouver has a new hurling club! Vancouver Wolfe Tones Hurling Club was officially started in December 2022. They’re looking for new players for the 2023 season.

There are now 188 clubs in North America, with 9 new clubs starting up in 2022.

Orlando 7s Tournament

In Central Florida, the Orlando 7s Hurling Tournament was held on November 12th. Hurlers and Camogs across Florida and Georgia participated with Atlanta GAA bringing home the cup. They also hosted a poc fada to finish up the tournament.

Nashville GAC On A Podcast

In Tennessee, two players from Nashville GAC were featured on the East Nashville Yacht Club podcast. They even taught the hosts how to play hurling.

NCGAA Central Tournament

In college news, the NCGAA hosted a tournament for universities in USA’s Central and Northeast regions. The tournament was held in Hartford, CT with the University of Pittsburgh taking the win.

2023 Hurling Tournaments

When will hurling return in 2023 in North America? There are a lot of North American hurling tournaments in 2023 to look forward to. Here are some of them:

January 13-15 – Suncoast 7s Tournament hosted by Tampa Bay GAA in Tampa, FL

February 4 – Indoor Box Hurling hosted by Roc City Gaelic in Rochester, NY

February 18 2023 – Over 40s Tournament hosted by NCGAA in Las Vegas, NV

March 25-26 – NCGAA College Hurling Championships in Louisville, KY

April – Music City Invitational hosted by Nashville GAC in Nashville, TN

July 24-28 – GAA World Games in Derry and Croke Park in Dublin

July 27-30 – Continental Youth Championships (CYC) in San Francisco, CA

August 18-20 – USGAA Finals in Denver, CO

September 16 – Midwest Tournament in Madison, WI
