Club of the month:

Thank you so much to UConn Hurling Team for doing an incredible job during the #UConnTakeover of our social media accounts.

During their takeover week, they shared a countdown to the NCGAA Finals, they also shared player profiles, and they continued #HurlingNearMe journey of the travelling hurl.

The UConn Hurling Team was established in 2011 and were National Champions in 2016.

The NCGAA play a hugely important role in the development of hurling in North America. College campuses are perfect places to recruit new players who have never heard of the sport and turn them into hurling advocates!

North America’s 2018 Hurling Club of the Year:

The Hurling Club of Madison are officially Play Hurling’s “Club of the Year” for 2018! Congrats Madison for being voted as the Best Takeover for 2018! Up the Hailstones!

The Hurling Club of Madison took over the Play Hurling social media accounts last February. They are great ambassadors for the hurling community in America and I’d highly recommend to check out their Indoor Hurling League stream, including full commentary. Check out game #1 of their indoor season this year: https://youtu.be/-9ajGNR3g5g

Keep up the great work Madison!

Thanks to every club that took over the Play Hurling social media accounts in 2018! Your efforts are what accelerates the growth and awareness of hurling and camogie in North America!

Was there any news we missed? Comment down below what your hurling club got up to in January. Or let us know what’s coming up in February so we can include it in the next episode.
